I was just getting into bird watching at the time but the highlight for me was my first Ringed Plover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The photos on this trip were taken during a bird flu outbreak throughout the UK and it was starting to impact the Farne Islands.  2 weeks after our visit the reserve was closed and no further landings were permitted that year.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the same trip we had pretty much a whole day on Lindisfarne and I&#8217;ve included a few photos from there in this collection also.<\/p>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have visited the Farne Islands on a number of occaisons, my first trip was when I was around 10 or 11 I think.
